One of the most important points of the company’s eco-policy is increasing resource efficiency by reus-ing materials and increasing recycling efforts. This, combined with installing modern, efficient equipment allows the company to minimize its environmental impact and, at the same time reduce the high costs of wasted energy.Future of the companyThis year a record amount of 5000 bath-room units manufactured by Ready Bathroom will be delivered to Denmark. However, starting this year, bathrooms will no longer be the company’s sole product, as new opportunities open on the market of modular construc-tion. In the second quarter of 2019 the Ready Bathroom will produce the first of its new modular homes, the produc-tion of which is intended to become a significant new branch of Ready Bath-room’s business. This solution already attracted strong interest. Health-care facilities, hotels, retirement houses, of-fices are particularly suited to modular approach. “This comprehensive solu-tion will be promoted on the Polish market and - through our representa-tive offices - in Denmark, Benelux and England. Additionally, for the needs of new sales markets, we plan to launch in the years 2021-2022 two more plants in Lower Silesia (Lwówek and Bolesławiec districts). We have already signed an agreement with Special Economic Zone to support our new investments” - said Mr. Załucki. In October 2019, in another effort to reach out to new partners and clients Ready Bathroom plans to take part in exhibition and conference fo-cusing on the sustainable architecture and building industry – Building Green, which will take place in Copenhagen. As modular construction becomes ever more predominant, the company is looking forward to new challenges and growth opportunities. Written by Andrzej Kaczmarczyk | 30 | Manufacturing-Journal Company backgroundThe JK company history begun in 1988 in Bysław, Kujawsko-Pomorskie prov-ince, in northern Poland, which to this day remains the site of the firm’s offices and production facilities. The founder of the company, Janusz Kiedrowski, opened a repair shop that serviced dam-aged containers. Initially the repair shop was situated in Kiedrowski’s garage. Since then the company grew steadily through hard work, dedication and new investments. It remains a private compa-ny with single ownership. Establishing a partnership with the Scandinavian con-tainer distributor ILAB was a key turning point for JK. Before that the company was limited to the domestic market, and has secured a considerable part of it. The partnership continues to this day and it has allowed both partners to thrive, and the Polish company to become a lead-ing manufacturer of containers for the Scandinavian market. In 2005 and 2010 JK company secured funding for expan-sion of its facilities as a part of the EU Re-gional Operational Programme. Those funds were used to build two new pro-duction halls. Also in 2010 the company expanded onto a new market and be-gun exporting containers to Germany. 2016 was another milestone year. The company formally changed its name from ZPUH Janusz Kiedrowski to ZPUH JK Miłosz Kiedrowski upon the transfer of the company’s assets to the son of its founder Mr. Miłosz Kiedrowski. That same year a new 5000m2 production hall was constructed, along with a paint shop and a shot blasting plant equipped with a press brake, five gantries and a Panasonic welding robot manufactured FACT BOXPoland’s leading waste container manufacturer and exporterZPUH JK Miłosz Kiedrowski is a leading Polish manufacturer of trash and waste disposal containers. The majority of them work as welders, while others handle prepara-tion, administration, technical support, maintenance, transport etc. There are five main departments at JK: produc-tion, construction, trade, acquisitions and accounting/human resources. Each has an experienced chief in charge. The highly skilled employees are considered by Mr. Kiedrowski to be of key strate-gic importance to the company, and it is company policy to maintain balance between experienced members of the staff and new, young up-and-coming workers. This way, the seasoned employ-ees can share their knowledge with the new recruits who provide a fresh per-spective and seek innovative solutions. Total size of the company’s production halls is 18.000m2, while the entirety of JK’ facilities exceeds 50.000m2. Those include three shot blasting plants, four paint shops and an advanced machine park equipped with sophisticated weld-ing robots, plasma tables and presses. Current production exceeds 15 000 con-tainers per year. The flagship products are the LV type containers with capac-ity in the 5m3 to 40m3 range, designed for storage of industrial and municipal waste. Other types include press con-tainers often used in shopping centers, designed with space for installation of a hydraulic press (capacity ranging from 20m3 to 37 m3), relatively small KP-type containers (3m3 to 18m3) also manu-factured in a variant meant for waste segregation, SKIP containers for rubble, scrap and plant waste, self unloading | 32 | Manufacturing-Journal dump containers (sometimes referred to as “cradles”) for industrial waste, scrap and cullet-glass, and various dumpsters meant for municipal waste segregation. All containers undergo shot blasting and are then hydrodynamically painted with anticorrosive paint in any color selected from RAL palette. Despite the high pro-duction volume, every single container is individually tested to ensure its func-tionality and the quality of welding, shot blasting and coat of paint. Only after passing multiple levels of quality control the containers are shipped out. As the JK company deals with multiple interna-tional markets, its products fulfill all the necessary quality standards required, such as the ISO: 9001:2015, 14001:2015, PN 18001:2004 and 3834-2. This excep-tional quality could not be achieved if not for JK Miłosz Kiedrowski’s partners and suppliers, such as Teknos and He-lios, the paint suppliers, Nova Verta the paint shop provider, Durma, the press manufacturer, GH, which manufactured the gantries used in the JK production plant and the Szatkowski company, which constructed JK’s shot blasting plant. Last, but not least, is SAAB, a met-allurgic consortium with global reach, the supplier of extra-fine steel, the key component in JK’s production. Materials delivered by SAAB allowed JK to manu-facture lighter and stronger contain-ers which can take on more load and offer savings on transportation due to their reduced weight and streamlined shape. SAAB has recognized the qual-ity of those products with “My Inner Strenx” and “Hardox In My Body” cer-tificates, which stand as assurance for all customers that JK’s containers were made with highest class materials and are durable, resilient and long lasting, and the company’s high manufacturing standards are indisputable. As SAAB is a leading steel manufacturer with pres-ence in more than 50 countries, those certificates are recognized and duly ap-preciated worldwide. Even more impres-sively, JK Miłosz Kiedrowski was the first company to be awarded the “My Inner Strenx” certificate.Socially responsible companyThe JK company engages also in numer-ous socially conscious endeavors not strictly related to its business activities, by supporting important organizations, events and initiatives such as; schools local volunteer fire departments and sports teams. JK supports local bowl-ing and rally teams, as well as the Tu-cholanka Sports Club, which maintains various sports teams such football, vol-leyball and athletics. In 2017 JK Miłosz Kiedrowski stepped in to save the 12th edition of the Electronic Music Cekcyn Festival, an important local event which takes place annually in the nearby town of Cekcyn from cancellation after local authorities decided not to sponsor the festival. Consequently JK became a stra-tegic sponsor for the EMCF, and the festi-val took place as expected. Also in 2017 JK co-sponsored a charity bicycle rally and assisted in relief efforts after a cata-strophic storm which wrecked havoc in the region. The company has instituted a “quality and environment” policy to ensure both the excellence of the prod-uct and manufacturing process with minimal impact on the environment. This policy includes using advanced technology, fulfilling all guidelines and legal requirements pertaining to the en-vironmental aspects of the company’s business activities, rational and bal-anced natural resource management and limiting industrial waste to the low-est possible volume. On some occasions the company’s support for local events and ecology overlap, as was the case with the X Polish Nationwide Ecology Race held in 2017 an co-sponsored by JK Miłosz Kiedrowski.Future plans and challengesThe past two years demand for JK’s prod-ucts has been growing rapidly, even to the point of straining the company’s ability to keep up with orders. As the trend is expected to continue in 2019, additional equipment was brought in to increase production while retaining the current number of employees. There are also plans to equip the production facility with another welding robot next year and to modernize the oldest of the production halls. With all the new in-vestments the company is sure to keep up with the growing demand, and Mr. Kiedrowski expects the market to sta-bilize in the year 2020. The company is sure to continue growing and modern-izing, secure in its strong position thanks to its capable leadership and employ-ees, as well as excellent international partners.Written by Andrzej KaczmarczykManufacturing-Journal | 33 |How the company grewRialex Crane Systems was founded by five engineers in 1992 in Kluczbork, in southwestern Poland. Initially it special-ized in cranes and overhead travelling cranes. The 90s were a time of rapid growth and development, and Rialex took full advantage of every opportuni-ty to make its mark. According to Adam Byczyński, Rialex’s CEO those formative years were crucial for the company’s success - “We were very open to new technologies from western Europe that started to reach us in the early 90s. Be-cause of that we were able to offer mod-ern solutions and advanced technology at affordable prices.” Partnerships were soon established with important sup-pliers from the West, such as Wampfler, Flender and Abus, but the true break-through moment came when Rialex’s own engineers introduced a new prod-uct that would really put the company on the map. Sems Rialex was conceived as a flexible bridge rail installation sys-tem, a superior alternative to traditional, faulty rigid rail fixing. Where traditional systems may result in excessive wheel wear and tear of the rail road wheel and crane mechanism, track misalignment and rail cracks on interfaces, Sems Rialex improved durability by eliminating the dynamic influence of rail interfaces, fa-vorable load distribution and enhanced noise and dynamic oscillation absorp-tion. With this technology standing as proof of the still young company’s ca-pabilities, in 1996 Rialex secured its larg-est contract yet, for overhead travelling cranes for Huta Częstochowa SA. For the remainder of the 90s Rialex continued to find numerous new partners in the met-allurgical and energy industries. In the 2000s, the company would reach out be-yond Polish borders to establish impor-tant partnerships in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and Russia. Between 2004 and 2007, major new ventures on the domestic market with companies such as KGHM Polska Miedź, Mittal Steel Poland and Stalprodukt solidified Ri-alex’s position as one of Poland’s lead-FACT BOXOnce a small, local business, Rialex is now a company with worldwide tiesProviding their clients with wide range of products and services for almost three decades, Ri-alex Crane Systems has earned a reputation as reliable and experienced partner in the han-dling equipment sector.FULL NAME: GENERAL DIRECTOR: INDUSTRY: ESTABLISHED: EMPLOYEES: TURNOVER: P.U.I. As such, Rialex has become the indus-try’s go-to company for all needs relat-ed to design, construction, installation and maintenance services of handling equipment. “Serious businesses can’t afford the risk of second-hand qual-ity. They search and analyze the market, and that leads them to Us – where they find professionalism and a guarantee of successfully realized contract” said Mr. Byczyński explaining his company’s suc-cess in establishing relations with part-ners.
