RAMIRENT ACQUIRES MODULE RENTAL SPECIALIST IN NORWAY

Ramirent has signed an agreement to acquire Rogaland Planbygg AS, the leading provider of rental accommodation and office modules to the oil and gas industry in Norway. The acquisition, which will increase the annual net sales of Ramirent Norway by approximately EUR 22 million, supports Ramirent’s strategy of diversifying its customer base and strengthening its product offering – now with high-class modules.

Founded in 1997, Rogaland Planbygg AS brings valuable expertise in the high-class module market and strong relationships in the growing oil and gas industry in Norway. Headquartered in Stavanger, Rogaland Planbygg serves customers across Norway.

”The acquisition will strengthen our presence in the industry segment in Norway, which is one of our strategic priorities in the coming years.  Rogaland Planbygg’s broad relationships in the oil & gas industry will help us offer also our other product groups this important industrial sector in Norway. I’m excited about the new opportunities the acquisition creates, and look forward to expanding our business together with our excellent Rogaland Planbygg team,” said Bjørn E.L. Larsen, SVP, Ramirent Norway.

“We were looking for an owner that could help us take the next step in our growth. Ramirent’s experience and expertise in the rental business, together with its strong organization, will help us to do that. We look forward to becoming a part of the Ramirent Group and to contributing to the company’s future success,” said Egil Messmer, CEO and co-owner, Rogaland Planbygg AS.

“This acquisition is an important milestone in our strategy of diversifying our customer base and expanding our product offering. High-class modules partly represent a new business area for Ramirent. Since the rental agreements for modules are typically longer than those in our other product groups, the acquisition also supports our goal of extending our average rental periods. I warmly welcome Rogaland Planbygg into the Ramirent family,” said Magnus Rosén, President and CEO, Ramirent Plc.

Ramirent’s Norwegian subsidiary, Ramirent AS, is the leading construction machinery rental company in Norway with annual net sales of EUR 114 million in 2010 and a total of 45 outlets throughout the country.
