Austria has succeeded like no other country in bringing together the vast majority of stakeholders in additive manufacturing (AM) from industry, science, education, media, and politics within a single organization. With its current 92 institutional members and close collaboration with the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation, and Technology (BMK), the technology platform AM-Austria serves as a central hub for the entire national AM sector. A new board has been elected for the upcoming term, with the goal of continuing and further expanding the successful path.

Technology Platform AM-Austria
The Technology Platform AM-Austria serves as a central hub for the Austrian additive manufacturing (AM) sector, connecting national stakeholders and fostering interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation within the industry. Its openness to international companies and experts further promotes knowledge transfer and supports the dissemination of future technologies in the field of digital production. The global exchange of know-how, resources, and innovations enables companies and organizations to collaborate more efficiently and tackle common challenges in the Austrian market—where medium-sized enterprises and specialized industries form the backbone of the economy. This strengthens Austria's AM supplier and user industry, making it future-proof for international competition.

The new board invites interested organizations to participate
For the new term, a new board of the Technology Platform AM-Austria was elected during the general assembly in September 2024. The new board, consisting of Dr. Johannes Gartner, Dr. Arko Steinwender, DI Benjamin Losert, DI Michael Kitzmantel, and Thomas Gruber, is committed to continuing the successful course of AM-Austria in collaboration with platform manager Ing. Agnes Parfy and its members. National and international organizations interested in promoting the additive manufacturing sector in the Austrian market are warmly invited to participate in this interdisciplinary dialogue and help shape the future of additive manufacturing.

"We strive to create a collaborative environment that fosters the development and dissemination of innovations in the field of additive manufacturing in Austria," explains Dr. Johannes Gartner, President of AM-Austria.

Members benefit not only from comprehensive support services and a strong international presence of Austrian innovations but also from the opportunity to actively shape the thematic and strategic direction through participation in working groups. As the voice of the industry, AM-Austria formulates and represents the needs and interests of its members to policymakers and the public. This close collaboration creates optimal conditions and promotes innovation and progress in the field of additive manufacturing in Austria.
