Vienna, October 18, 2023 - Amidst Europe's technology hubs, Austria has established itself as an innovation center for additive manufacturing (AM) and earned international respect. The technology platform AM-Austria serves as a central hub for the Austrian AM sector, connecting various stakeholders and thus promoting interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation in the industry. AM-Austria now invites all interested parties to actively participate in shaping and influencing the future of the additive manufacturing industry in Austria.
Despite its modest size, Austria has gained international recognition for its impressive progress in the field of additive manufacturing (AM). Between 2014 and 2017, the country recorded a stunning growth rate of 1300% in AM patent applications, which was the highest worldwide. Additionally, Austria is characterized by an impressive diversity of AM technologies that excel in terms of quality and innovation. In international rankings, Austria ranks fourth among AM device manufacturers, behind the USA, Germany, and China, but holds the first position in terms of per capita.
AM-Austria: The Technology Platform
At the heart of the Austrian AM sector is the technology platform AM-Austria. With over 70 members, it serves as a central hub, connecting various stakeholders, from experts to users, across diverse fields such as education, research, politics, and media, thereby promoting interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation within the industry. AM-Austria invites all to actively shape and influence the future of additive manufacturing together.
Members not only benefit from extensive support services and a strong presentation of Austrian innovations on the international stage but also have the opportunity to actively shape the thematic and strategic direction through working groups. As the industry's voice, AM-Austria formulates and represents requirements and interests to both the government and the public.
