Munich, April 3, 2025 – Since 2021, NXT Power has operated a service and logistics center in Vimercate, Italy. Now, the U.S.-based power quality specialist is expanding into the DACH region. With its advanced uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, NXT Power not only protects against power outages but also ensures stable, interference-free power for high-precision instruments and systems—particularly in the fields of analytics and diagnostics. Power disturbances can lead to corrupted measurement results and costly data loss.
As renewable energy sources continue to reshape global grid infrastructure and compute-intensive technologies become increasingly important, the risk and frequency of power-related disruptions are on the rise. But when it comes to highly sensitive equipment such as mass spectrometers, chromatographs, and diagnostic instruments, protection from basic power outages and voltage fluctuations isn’t enough. These devices are especially vulnerable to electrical noise and transients that conventional UPS systems and filters often fail to eliminate—posing a serious threat to measurement integrity.
NXT Power was founded in 2020 with the specific goal of addressing these challenges. The company’s founders are seasoned industry veterans who previously helped build a $75 million market leader in power quality solutions. Their expertise paid off quickly: “We launched our Italian service and logistics center just a year after founding the company,” says Mark Herbert, European Country Manager and head of NXT Power’s European expansion.
The next milestone is now underway. Under the leadership of Country Manager René Thomas, NXT Power is set to address the critical power quality gap for sensitive systems in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. “I’m excited to bring NXT Power to the DACH region and help local companies safeguard their operations with our power quality expertise,” says Thomas.
NXT Power’s specialized UPS systems, which use isolation transformer technology to provide full galvanic separation, go far beyond standard protection. In addition to shielding against outages and surges, they also mitigate often-overlooked disturbances such as common-mode voltage—offering a level of security that standard systems can’t match.
“Common-mode disturbances are frequently underestimated in UPS design. Yet they are a common cause of system crashes, data corruption, and computational errors—especially in sensitive measurement environments where a single glitch can invalidate entire test series,” explains industry expert Werner Karau, who advises the company.
With a new base in Germany, NXT Power will offer customers in the DACH region direct local support. A team of experienced technicians will handle service across Europe, while spare parts will be shipped quickly from the company’s logistics hub in northern Italy. This setup benefits not only regional OEMs but also end users worldwide, as René Thomas confirms: “Our customers can rely on continuous protection for their critical equipment, ensuring smooth operation, greater productivity, and long-term cost savings.”
