ÅF has signed an agreement with Volvo Car Corporation for a significant two-year project. The order is for turn-key services in automation and robotic technology, which is one of the areas of technical expertise in which ÅF excels in the automotive industry.
For ÅF, the project involves the development and conversion of an automated production line for Volvo Car Corporation's engine manufacturing facility in Skövde.
For the most part, the project will be conducted by the ÅF unit in Skövde, with significant involvement from ÅF's operations in Olofström and Laxå.
"This is yet another acknowledgement that ÅF is shouldering the role as a strategic partner and supplier who will help define Volvo in the future," says Per Magnusson, President of the ÅF Industry Division, which has approximately 2,000 consultants.
"We are proud that ÅF, in tough international competition, best meets the high requirements of Volvo Cars," says Jan-Ola Andersson, who is responsible for ÅF's activities in the Industrial Projects business area.
