MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has secured orders for a series of Pusnes deck machinery packages for various shipowners. The Pusnes equipment has been specified for different ship types that are going to be built by the Hyundai Group and Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, in South Korea.
"These orders clearly show the confidence our customers have for MacGregor and our equipment," says Nils Jørgen Walle, Sales Manager for Pusnes deck machinery at MacGregor. "MacGregor worked closely with the relevant shipyards and shipowners and secured the contracts by offering high-quality products with leading design standards together with a strong focus on through-life service capabilities."
MacGregor's Pusnes deck machinery has been specified for the following ship types: twelve very large crude carriers (VLCC); four Suezmax tankers; six liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers; one liquefied ethylene gas (LEG) carrier; two long-range 75,000 dwt product tankers and one liquefied natural gas/floating storage regasification unit (LNG/FSRU) carrier.
For each deck machinery package MacGregor will be responsible for the design, contract management and the supply of all key components. Equipment deliveries are planned to start in 2016 and will continue into 2017.
Most of the deck machinery will be based on the renowned Pusnes high-pressure ring-main hydraulic system. One shipset will be based on a Pusnes frequency controlled (VFD) electric system.
